Using Natural Skin Products For Better Skin

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

Skin is obviously something that is extremely important to us. Not only when we are younger but also when we are older. You definitely need to make sure that you care for your skin when you are younger to make sure that it looks great when you are older. In this generation, the hot new item in skincare is going to be natural skin products. These products are certainly popular and we will go through some of the reasons why in this article.

In skin, there are tons of different types. For example, dry skin, sensitive skin, greasy skin, oily skin or just a combination of everything. More recently, dry skin and sensitive skin have shone up and that is why these natural skin care products have become so popular. Most of the time, these types of products are tailored specifically to these skin types and they work fantastic.

Another main point that people bring up whenever they are discussing switching is the environment. The environment is a huge deal for a lot of people and natural skin care products usually are great for the environment and they are completely green. So in essence, they are fantastic for your skin and for the environment.

Another great feature about skincare products that are natural is the fact that they usually work better. Most chemically-based makeup products or even skincare products can leave a film on your skin or even look bad, but natural products tend to look better and work better in the long run.

You need to consider some things before making the switch to natural products for your skin, however. For starters, you need to consider the ingredients. You have to give your skin the opportunity to get used to them. They may be quite different than what you are used to using. As such, it is better to get tested for allergies prior to regularly using natural products.

Yet another advantageous aspect of natural skin care is that it is safe for animals. The products are not tested on them. That is why many people make the switch. The fact that animals are neither tested nor harmed is a big draw.

The lack of fake ingredients and artificial products within your skincare line is a fantastic benefit about natural skincare products. There are no dyes and no chemicals and as mentioned above, that really does help your skin in the long run. This also plays a huge part on why people are making the switch.

As you can probably tell, there are tons of reasons why people are choosing natural skincare products over chemical ones. Your skin will love the switch and you will definitely start seeing results instantly! Just think about all of the benefits and take some of these to heart whenever you are choosing your skincare line!

It Makes Sense To Use A Moisturizer With Sunscreen Deosn’t It?

Saturday, March 7th, 2009

Sunburn is bad for your skin, so should you use a moisturizer with sunscreen?

But the answer may not be quite what you thought it might be.

It’s totally clear though that sunburn is really bad for your skin.

If you want to guarantee older looking skin with all the symptoms of aging skin like dryness, sagging, wrinkles and more, just get a sunburned face regularly from an early age.

Then there’s skin cancer to consider too.

So that means that it makes total sense to use a moisturizer with sunscreen with an spf as high as possible.

Well no, but that doesn’t mean that getting sunburned is fine.

Why isnt it a good idea to use a moisturizer with an spf factor? Because there is evidence that the daily use of sunscreens can be dangerous to your health, and even some suggestion that daily use of an spf moisturizer could lead to cancer.

That’s not to say that it’s proven, but it is certainly suspected by many scientists. Now if you use a sunscreen for, say, 5 or 6 times a year, then the risk is a little lower. But if you use a moisturizer with sunscreen added chances are you’re going to be using it daily, so you’re using a sunscreen daily.

There’s different types of sunscreens. There are sunscreens that work in 2 different ways. There are those that stay on the surface of your skin, and those that work within your skin once they soak in. Those that stay on the surface are sunscreens with either zinc or titanium.

If you’re using a sunscreen that soaks in then some of it will get into your blood. And the skin care products and moisturizers with sunscreen use the type that soaks in because it looks and feels better that way.

Spf factor is produced by use of synthetic chemicals, and its always a concern getting synthetic chemicals into your bloodstream.

And theres another factor to consider. If you block the sun to your face daily you can suffer from a deficiency of vitamin D, because the sun on our skin helps our vitamin D supply. Studies have shown that up to 60% of Americans are vitamin D deficient, though not necessarily all from sunscreen use.

So what should you do?

Use the highest quality moisturizer possible, without sunscreen in it. The manufacturer of the worlds very best moisturizers and skin care products specifically doesn’t add a sunscreen to their products for all the reasons I’ve mentioned.

And wait till there’s a day when you really think you need a spf factor, then use a sunscreen with either zinc or titanium. On other days you won’t need one, and then you can stock up on that vitamin D.

Where Can I Find A List Of The Best To Worst Skin Care Products?

Saturday, March 7th, 2009

One of the biggest question women ask about skin care products is “which are the best to worst skin care products”?

So today I thought I would deal with this question, but perhaps not give quite the answer that you might expect. I’m not going to give you a list of the best skin care products listing the best to worst skin care products 1 to 10.

That’s because I don’t believe that women who are asking themselves which is the best skin care products are asking the right question. There is a more important question to ask before you select a skin care range.

The preliminary question you should ask is one which almost no women ask themselves.

The question is which are the SAFEST skin care products?

SAFEST? You can’t be suggesting that skin care products are unsafe to use can you?

Well sadly safety has a lot to do with skin care products, and should be considered before any question of finding the best (or worst) skin care products. You see many big brand name skin care products contain ingredients that are suspect or downright dangerous. And so do many well known cosmetics, personal and body care and beauty products.

One quick example.

A recent study found lead in over 50% of big brand lipsticks tested.

And yes, you’re right, it’s really bad to get lead into our bodies. And there’s lead in big name lipsticks that you may even be using today. There’s lots more examples of dangerous ingredients in skin care and anti aging products and cosmetics and personal care products, that’s just one.

It’s so bad that entire organizations have now been set up to combat this problem with dangerous ingredients in anti aging skin care products and cosmetics and more.

How can this happen? Because the FDA is not required to police any of the ingredients that go into these products, so the big companies can put whatever they want in there. Many ingredients used in products in the US are banned in Europe.

And of course big companies care so much for you health don’t they? Just look at how much the cigarette companies care.

So before you ask yourself which are the best to worst skin care products you should be asking which are the safest skin care products. Because the best skin care products are only the best if they are safe.

There are some excellent natural skin care products available. They can be made from extracts from plants, or from the wool of sheep, or seaweed perhaps. But only from ingredients known to be safe.

And the company that makes the best skin care products in the world has actually made a commitment to it’s customers that it will only use ingredients in it’s products that are safe enough to eat.

So sorry, for those looking for a list of the best to worst skin care products, I haven’t produced a list. And anyway most of the big name products (apart from being unsafe to use) wouldn’t be on it anyway, most do very little. Strangely it’s unlikely that you’ve even heard of the company that makes the best skin care products, and they even back up the quality of their products with a money back guaranteed, so you can try risk free.

I Need A List Of The Best To Worst Skin Care Products.

Many women looking to buy skin care products are asking themselves “which are the best to worst skin care products”?

So today I thought I would deal with this question, but perhaps not give quite the answer that you might expect. I’m not going to give you a list of the best skin care products listing the best to worst skin care products 1 to 10.

That’s because I don’t believe that women who are asking themselves which is the best skin care products are asking the right question. There is a more important question to ask before you select a skin care range.

The FIRST and most important question that you should ask, and one which we suspect that 90% or more of women never think of is this.

The question is which are the SAFEST skin care products?

SAFEST?? How can skin care products be unsafe? What does safety have to do with skin care products?

Well sadly safety has a lot to do with skin care products, and should be considered before any question of finding the best (or worst) skin care products. You see many big brand name skin care products contain ingredients that are suspect or downright dangerous. And so do many well known cosmetics, personal and body care and beauty products.

Here’s a quick example. It relates to cosmetics, but it’s the same for skin care and anti aging products too.

A study conducted only recently on big brand name lipsticks found lead in over 50% of them.

And yes, you’re right, it’s really bad to get lead into our bodies. And there’s lead in big name lipsticks that you may even be using today. There’s lots more examples of dangerous ingredients in skin care and anti aging products and cosmetics and personal care products, that’s just one.

The problem is so bad that there are now entire organizations set up to combat dangerous ingredients in cosmetics and skin care and anti aging and body care, personal and beauty products.

How is this possible. It’s because the FDA doesn’t have to check the ingredients found in these products for safety, so whatever the big companies want to put in they can. And there are many ingredients used in these products that are banned in Europe.

And big business doesn’t have a fine record of caring for the health of their customers where there is money to be made, just look at the record of the tobacco companies.

So before asking yourself about the best to worst skin care products you should be searching for the safest skin care products. Because the best skin care products can’t be the best unless they are safe to use.

And it’s possible to get excellent natural skin care products that are safe and source ingredients from such places as plants or seaweeds or the wool of sheep. All known to be safe for people to use.

And there is one company that makes the worlds best skin care products. They make natural skin care products using ingredients that are sourced from plants, and seaweeds and the wool of sheep, and all safe to use.

So if you’re looking for the worlds best skin care products we haven’t produced a list for you, sorry. Most big names you would expect to be on the list aren’t safe to use, (and most do very little either, so they wouldn’t be on the list regardless). In fact the best skin care products are made by a company that you’ve probably never heard of, and they back up their products with a money back guarantee.

Secrets to Healthy Hair Exposed

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

One look at that woman’s healthy shiny hair can make you instantly envious. If you are wondering why you do not have the same kind of beautiful hair, you have to know that it takes a lot of work, effort, patience and time to maintain a mane that consists of gorgeous locks that will turn heads wherever you go.

Here are some of the top secrets to healthy hair that will surely make you the new envy of the women around you:

1. Get a good cut.

This is hardly a secret but it is true that some women take a good haircut for granted. They do not know is that a trim is able to ensure that your hair is free from damaged split ends that can make it look dull and dreary. Having regular trims will keep your hair looking great and healthy at all times.

2. Hydrate your hair.

Some people are not probably aware that drinking water is not only essential for hydrating one’s body and skin but it also does the same thing for your hair. Drink plenty of water and healthy fluids every day to keep your hair from drying up.

3. Avoid using too many products.

Limit your use of hair products to two to three items-shampoo, conditioner, and mousse or styling gel. Use only high quality items that have rich moisturizing formula that will not leave your hair dull and dry. Moreover, find a product that will be suitable for your hair type and texture. Go for those that have mild and gentle formula.

4. Protect your hair against heat.

Heat can also be a great hazard to your hair. Avoid going out into the sun in the hours of 10 am to 2 pm because this is when the UV rays are strongest and most harmful. Don a hat or bandana to avoid exposing your hair to the heat of the sun.

Moreover, use only high quality hair equipment such as CHI irons, Babyliss hair dryer, and so on. These products come with adjustable temperature setting so that you can control the heat and prevent your hair from getting cooked. Do not forget to use a heat protection spray prior to using any heat appliance.

5. Get plenty of sleep.

It is during sleep that a body recuperates to repair any damage including hair damage. Getting adequate sleep and rest will contribute to a healthier hair. It is a good idea to sleep on a satin pillowcase to avoid waking up to a fly-away hair.

6. Moisturize intensively.

Using an intensive conditioner once a week is effective in rejuvenating your hair and keeping it soft, moisturized and looking great. For a more efficient treatment, wrap your hair with a plastic shower cap after application of the conditioner and leave it on for ten to fifteen minutes before you rinse it out thoroughly.

7. Eat a proper diet.

Having a well balanced diet that consists of protein and essential amino acids is another great way of maintaining a healthy and glowing hair.

8. Use hair equipment properly.

Just because you bought a reliable Babyliss hair dryer does not mean you can do whatever you want with your hair because there is no risk of damage. Even the most advanced pieces of hair equipment need to be used carefully to ensure safety and efficiency. So make sure you read and understand the manual of the hair equipment before using.

A healthy hair is not something that only rich people or the celebrities from Hollywood can achieve. If you follow these terrific tips, you will be on your way to having a hair that is radiant and healthy.

What You Can Expect at a Medical Spa

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

Wrinkles and age spots make you feel old and you’ve decided you want to do something about them. The problem is you are a little wary of hospital and clinics. Besides, the harsh lights reflecting off the white walls make these imperfections stand out.

What if you could visit a spa and rejuvenate your skin without the clinical atmosphere? You can. Medical spa services give you that youthful appearance in a relaxing setting. Here are some of the most common procedures you can expect from a med spa:

* Microdermabrasion

This is a milder and non-invasive version of dermabrasion which should be done in a medical facility. Microdermabrasion, however, is a very common procedure among medical spa services. Using a wand that blasts the skin with tiny bits of crystal and then vacuums them back up along with the skin cells. It slowly removes layers of skin and typically requires more than one session. This procedure is great for correcting dark spots and removing lines and mild wrinkles.

* Photofacials

This procedure uses pulse light therapy and heat to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. It also works on other conditions like acne scarring and hyper-pigmentation. The heat and light work to promote natural collagen formation in the skin. Collagen is what gives the skin its elasticity and volume.

* Laser Skin Treatments

There are several types of laser treatments commonly used in med spas. Fraxel, CO2 and Erbium laser treatments are some of the latest technologies. These lasers penetrate the layers of skin and either kill or wound the affected area. The dead skin comes off, revealing fresh new skin layers. The type of treatment and laser used determines how deep and traumatic the results. Results are noticeable after one treatment, but if your wrinkles and dark spots are moderate to severe, it will take more than one session.

* Chemical Peels

This treatment’s active ingredient is glycolic acid. It is applied to the face and allowed to sit and penetrate the skin. When it is removed, a layer skin is sloughed off.

* Injectable Fillers

These products should be administered by a dermatologist or the plastic surgeon on staff. Botox, Restylane and other fillers are commonly used at med spas and are a popular lunchtime fix for lines and wrinkles.

While these medical spa services are medical grade procedures, the staff makes every effort to disguise this fact by using soft lighting, warm colors, soothing music and scents. They also try to incorporate a little pampering because these procedures can be quite uncomfortable and maybe painful. A hand, arm and neck massage helps distract from the discomfort sometimes felt during the facials, peels and other procedures.

If you decide to partake of medical spa services, check out the facility and make sure there is a physician overseeing the facility and performing the more invasive procedures. Also make sure the dermatologists, nurses and aestheticians are licensed and trained on the equipment. Certificates and diplomas should be displayed, but if not, don’t be afraid to ask. Do this and you can sit back, relax and enjoy your journey to a younger looking you.

Get the latest cosmetic treatments done in a relaxed, comfortable and non-clinical environment. Day spa in Vernon Hills IL offers a wide array of skin rejuvenation solutions with the latest techniques in aesthetic technology. Explore your options at http://www.newtrendmedicalspa.com

Home Remedies For Wrinkles

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

Home remedies for wrinkles? Most home remedies uses herbs and ingredients that are readily available at home kitchen. I have tried to combine these, some in varying formulation, to produce concoctions. In this article, I will share with you how I found my solution to my wrinkles problem.

How wrinkles develop

Many experts, however, have serious doubts as to the effectiveness and reliability of these home made remedies in our quest for solutions for skin wrinkles. We need to deeply understand how wrinkles are developed and how to combat them more effectively. Wrinkles are formed because the skin loses elasticity. The skin is firm and elastic because of the collagen bundles and elastin that hold together the fatty tissues underneath the skin. As we advance in age, we begin to lose substantial amount of collagen molecules. In fact, it is already established that a normal person will lose a third of the original collagen mass found in the body upon reaching the age of 45 years or so. After reaching 25, we start losing collagen content at the rate of 1.5% per year. Substantial reduction of collagen presence in the skin leads to wrinkles and sagging.

More about topical application

To evaluate if home made remedies for wrinkles are truly effective, we also need to look first at how topical application of those home remedies work. In the medical community, the effectiveness of a topical treatment is largely influenced by the ability of the treatments to be absorbed by the affected area of the body.

Granting that the ingredients do contain those long proven elements and substances that effectively treat a particular skin condition, it still remains to be seen how much exactly of those substances are absorbed by the skin. Some techniques call for direct intake of collagen or collagen producing agents. This is all right, though. Take in those substances orally and you help the body regenerate collagen from within.

But topical application of collagen is already considered ineffective. This is because collagen and elastin, another similarly helpful type of protein that makes the skin elastic, cannot be absorbed by the skin directly. To be effective, it must reach the deepest layers of the skin. The same principle works for those homes made remedies.

There is nothing wrong with using all natural ingredients. I, myself, am a serious proponent of their use to combat to attain a healthy living condition. The issue is not about the ingredients used, rather on the methods used to treat wrinkles. Some use egg white, yogurt, castor oil, vitamin E capsules, honey and lemon, among others. These ingredients are rich sources of vitamin E and many other essential elements. They are also good sources of anti-oxidants that fight the free radicals in the body. But why spend time mixing them in a vain hope of treating your wrinkles when you can just eat them?

All-natural skin care products are shown to be effective because they are scientifically formulated and designed for specific types of skin. Varying skin types require different skin care products. These creams are backed by years of research and widely accepted techniques. Home made remedies for wrinkles can be considered as secondary only. Well formulated creams and lotions take less of your time, are less messy, more convenient to carry, work faster and target areas more specifically. Most importantly, the molecular structure of those natural substances is too small that enables them to be easily absorbed even by the deeper layers of the skin.

Now, do yourself a favor and try to see any marked difference between the two treatment types. You find it out yourself, for I had already found mine.

And to help you get clearer and younger looking skin, I will like to share with you one anti aging skin care range that I found contains more active ingredients than any other cream on the market. These ingredients are effective moisturizers, because they penetrate deeply and “nourish”. So, they never feel greasy.

I have never seen any other natural products that is as good and report no negative or adverse effects. They are hypo-allergenic, fragrance free and can be used on any skin-type. If you want to see discover similar results, you should visit http://www.goodhealthyskin.com to find out more.

Short Hair Styling Tweaks

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

There’s a very big difference between good short hair and bad short hair. Bad short hair makes you look unconcerned about how you look, lazy, and generally unfeminine. These are the mop-heads you see walking down the street that cut their hair short simply because they’re too busy or disinterested to care for their look. Good short hair is totally different: it allows you to change your image in a split-second. One day you’re looking absolutely delightful with those girlish curls bouncing around the place you made with a curling iron, and the next day you’re business-savvy with that straight, executive look with a few swipes of a flat iron. So just what determines whether short hair is good or bad for you?

It’s really simple: hairstyle.

Unlike long hair, hairstyles for short-hair don’t need tons of maintenance and meticulous care. With long hair, you’re forced to spend a lot of time and money if you don’t want to look like some crazy ghost that pops out of your TV screen when you watch a cursed video. With short hair styles, a little love and care is enough to make you look good and feel good.

So what do you need for you, yourself, to give your own short hair the loving’ and styling’ it deserves?

Professional Advice - Stylists are called professionals for a reason, and amateurs are called so because they end up destroying instead of styling hair. They can provide you with a catalogue of styles to choose from, and will best help you visualize the looks on you. And if you’ve got the time, they’re going to give you the best possible fix-up you can get for the versatility your short hair offers.

It’s all you - Interview your stylist to get some tips for the style that suits different aspects of you: your face, your body, and most importantly, your personality; ask how a curling iron works too! Jet-straight hair won’t exactly work for girls with thin facial features. Likewise, a peppy, curly look isn’t the best choice for the CEO who’s going to head a meeting with other executives about a corporate merger.

Accessorize - a given for every woman. Accessories will make or break the look you’re trying to get. However, accessories have double the effect for women with short hair. When you’ve got short hair, be very selective of your accessories, especially with jewelry adorning your upper body. Necklaces, earrings, amulets and hair ornaments stand out much better when your hair is short, and have two possible effects. They’ll either complement your hairstyle or make you look more divine, or will clash with your hairstyle and make you look like a circus freak.

Get the right stuff - When you’re confident enough to tinker with your hair, get a good set of hair-care tools: brushes, combs, curling irons, and flat irons are some of the basics tools for your hair. Creams and gels, in all their dizzying numbers, will help you manage your hairstyle, make it look better, and keep your hair strong and healthy. For hair-care products and tools, the brand-name counts: Karmin, FHI and Corioliss are some top-tier brand names to consider.

Just because you’ve got short hair, doesn’t mean you can let it run wild. Whether you’re deciding between a flat iron and a curling iron, the ruby necklace and the pearl necklace, Cream X and Gel Y, your short hair is going to shine if you’re willing to give yourself enough love to shine. So start loving it, and your hair’s going to love you right back!

8 Fabulous Hair Dryer Tips

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

If you are like most women who will not be able to live without glorious looking hair, a reliable and efficient dryer is one of your best weapons. This piece of equipment is what women of today practically needs for everyday use.

Due to the wide popularity of dryers, there has been a widespread manufacture of this product from different brands. Because of this, it is not anymore difficult to find a dryer that will best suit your needs.

If you are hair dryer lover, here are some fabulous tips that will help you achieve that great looking hair with this piece of hair equipment.

1. Choose a reliable dryer

Of course, you will not be able to achieve great hair if the dryer you are using is something that is both cheap in price and in quality. What you should do is to ensure that you only buy the best kind. T3 hair dyer is one of the most popular choices that will never fail to bring out the best in your hair.

2. Buy a dryer with adjustable heat and speed

An adjustable heat and speed settings are essential to make it easier for you to achieve the specific look that you want. For instance, if you want a smooth blowout, the ideal settings to use are medium heat and low speed.

3. Towel dry hair before use

You might think that just because you have a hair dryer that you do not have to towel dry your hair anymore. But this is just wrong. Remember that drying your hair when it is still overly wet is not advisable to do because your hair in this state will not be able to take the heat from your hair dryer. So it is wise that you first dry your hair lightly and gently with a towel until it is just damp and not overly wet anymore.

4. Create body and volume with your dryer

To do this, turn you head upside down while blow-drying. Next, you have to position the airflow of the dryer toward the roots to lift up the hair. After the hair gets dry, toss the head back, and brush your hair gently.

5. Give your hair a straightened finish

To achieve a wonderful straight hair, use a large round brush to comb your hair tautly. Put the dryer near to your hair while you do this.

6. Put out a wavy look

Natural looking waves can be accomplished by holding the hair at its roots and scrunching them in between your fingertips as you dry it with your dryer.

7. Finish with a light shine serum

This hair product can smoothen your hair and give it the shine that will dazzle everyone. It also keeps the do in place for a longer time and gives out a nice smelling scent on your hair.

8. Take care of your dryer

Even if you have bought a durable hair dryer like a t3 hair dryer for example, you still need to take good care of it so that it would last a long time with you. Unplug the dryer right after use. It is not good for the dryer and not safe for you to leave it plugged when not in use.

Do not wrap the cord around the dryer because this can cause shortages. Avoid exposing the hair dryer to water and store it securely out of children’s reach. Read the manual carefully before using.

With these simple tricks and techniques on dryer, it would be a cinch to do the task of blow drying and achieving fabulous looking tresses.

Eye Shadow Make-Up Tips

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

Your make up can make a statement on how you look. You can cover those tired eyes or enhance your charming lips. Choose the right make up style according to the occasion. You can apply a more natural and modest look when going to work and put on those smoky eyes with a little bit of dramatic look for a night out with friends. So if you’re wondering how to do it without taking too much time then pull out those make up train cases and follow the lead.

The first thing to do when preparing to put on make up, whether for the day or night, is to apply an eye shadow as a primary base for your lids to help your make up look fresh and last longer. If you know how to apply an eye shadow you can certainly bring out the natural look of your eyes, enhancing its color and unique shape. You can also change the way it looks if you prefer to try something new. To give wide set eyes, apply a light to medium shape of eye shadow to your entire lid area. Then apply a darker color to the outer 1/3 of the main lid area, you can extend the color slightly beyond your eyelids if you want to. You can use you finger tip to blend both dark and light color to soften the edges of the lid. Use a pencil liner to slightly widen the outer edges of the eyes. Apply mascara to the tip of you eyelashes to make it look natural looking. You can tap a little mascara on your lower eyelashes but do not overdo it.

If you have eyes that set wide apart then you can definitely use make up to make the illusion, making it look closer. Instead of using a medium to light shade, use a lighter shade of eye shadow on your main lid area. Then apply a darker but complimentary shade of shadow along the inner corner of your lids and draw it out using a fine line along the crease of your lid. This dark shade adds depth and draws attention, creating an illusion that they are closer than they actually are. You can apply more liners and mascara if you desire. Be sure to keep your make up train cases neat and clean to avoid mess.

If you have small eyes and want a “pop out” look then you should start by applying a light shade of eye shadow just beneath your eyebrows, this will bring out a highlight effect. A medium shade of eye shadow is used for your main eyelid and a line of darker shadow on the crease of your lid to the outer edge, you can use your fingertip to soften and blend the colors. Apply eyeliner along the upper lid, just above the lash line and also the lash line on your lower lid, meeting the upper line and the outer corner of your eyes. You can use a pencil instead and use your fingertips to spread and soften its lines for a smoky look.

Eye shadows, lipsticks, eye liner, powder, and blush-ons - what other way of keeping your precious beauty products than with makeup train cases?
