Get A Glowing Complexion

Friday, June 10th, 2011

Though there isn’t any conclusive proof that antioxidants keep skin from aging, specialists do concur they’ve the ability to ‘capture’ no cost radicals and might protect us from particular diseases. Antioxidant-rich foods may also give us a much healthier, glowing complexion.

Based on Susan M. Kleiner, R.D., Ph.D, a Seattle-based nutritionist, eating food items wealthy in antioxidants is greatest. “There’s no substitute for obtaining nutrients by way of foods. The physique absorbs and assimilates them far much better than in health supplement form.”

Kleiner suggests following the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foods Manual Pyramid, and eating three to 5 servings of greens and two to 4 servings of fruit each day. Choose a minimum of 1 citrus fruit, such as an orange, a tangerine, or a grapefruit, for vitamin C. To improve beta-carotene consumption, eat at the very least two orange-yellow or leafy green vegetables every single day.

Eat Correct for Younger Seeking Skin

Consuming healthy equals more youthful searching skin. Drinking a cup of orange juice and eating 1 raw carrot provides twice the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) of vitamin C and beta-carotene. The RDA for vitamin E is tougher to fulfill, specifically for those on a low-fat diet plan.

“Don’t be afraid to add a couple of tablespoons of olive oil for your diet plan, or to eat some nuts or seeds,” advises Dr. Kleiner.

The pursuing guideline can be used for RDAs for three of one of the most common antioxidant nutrients, vitamin C, vitamin E, and beta-carotene; very good sources and how very best to increase benefits of each are incorporated.

Vitamin C: RDA a minimum of sixty mg. (1/2 cup orange juice = 70 mg.) Citrus fruits and juices and tomatoes are excellent sources of vitamin C. Eat whole fruit for extra fiber. Avoid juice in glass containers, and heat-pasteurized juice. Light and heat ruin a number of the vitamin C.

Vitamin E: RDA eight mg for girls / ten mg. for men (1 tablespoon of canola oil = 9 mg.) Great sources consist of nuts, seeds and their oils, fatty fish for example salmon, mackerel, halibut, and trout, and wheat germ. Use canola, olive, or an additional vegetable oil in place of butter or margarine when cooking.

Beta-carotene: no established RDA. Expert Dr. Kleiner, however, recommends 5-6 mg. ( One carrot = twelve mg.) Orange and yellow vegetables, and leafy green veggies, such as broccoli, are all good sources. As opposed to potato chips or popcorn for an evening snack while viewing television, opt for prepackaged, washed and peeled infant carrots.

Should you feel you are unable to meet the RDAs by way of diet on your own, by all implies get an all-in-one antioxidant vitamin dietary supplement each day, but continue to pay focus to wealthy food resources.

Summary

Since several over-the-counter cosmetics that contains antioxidants don’t have sufficient to be totally affective by on their own, it is greatest to ‘feed’ them for your skin in mixture with a wholesome, antioxidant rich diet plan for more youthful searching skin.

Information on Coconut Oil and How it Helps to Prevent Wrinkles!

Monday, April 25th, 2011

If you’re looking for a safe anti-aging compound, try coconut oil.Coconut oil in its natural form contains fatty acids, antioxidants, and other good compounds that aid in slowing the aging process. It is much better for your skin and body than many other anti-aging products, because these products tend to be full of harsh chemicals.

If you’re going to use coconut oil, you should use it in its virgin form, as it is taken from the coconut. The refining process often strips the oil of its nutrients and antioxidants, rendering it almost completely useless.

Not a lot of people use coconut oil for the purpose of ingestion, but you can also use coconut oil as a dietary supplement. It has so many useful compounds that it is commonly used in many different substances: lotions, soap, dietary capsules, etc. It is so useful as a moisturizer that it’s difficult to find a lotion without coconut oil as an ingredient.

Less skin irritation from Coconut oil than mineral oil has been reported. Natural oil from coconuts both moisturizes and protects the skin against all kinds of attacks. It can kill bacteria, aid in the fight against warts, and cure acne. The antioxidants in the oil will help slow the aging process. This can be done via ingesting the oil or rubbing it on the skin. You should be sure to use the oil in its virgin state.

Aging is caused mostly by the buildup of free radicals within the skin. These free radicals cause damage to the connective tissues within the skin. The damage is what causes wrinkles and sagging. The antioxidants in coconut oil can help slow down this aging process by helping the connective tissues to retain their elasticity for longer. Thus, taking coconut oil, or using it on your skin, can help you fight the signs of aging, by keeping the connective tissues of the skin healthy for longer.

Information On Virgin Coconut Oil

Sunday, April 17th, 2011

Coconut oil has many uses. It can be used as cooking oil, skin moisturizer, and medicine. The compounds present in coconut oil give it many benefits. For example, in virgin coconut oil, you can find saturated fats, lauric acid, and vitamin E. Vitamin E is great for your skin and body.

The saturated fats found in coconut oil are mostly triglycerides and medium-chain fatty acids. These fats help keep skin supple, fighting aging and moisturizing it as well. If we ingest these fats, they make their way under the skin as subcutaneous fat– something that may or may not be desired. In a healthy person with normal body fat, these can help keep the body and skin healthy.

Some other important properties found in coconut oil are Lauric, caprylic, or capric acid are also found in coconut oil. They have unique and strong anti-microbial and disinfectant properties. They help the skin protect the body against infection and disease, whether taken orally or used superficially on the skin. Vitamin E is similar: it protects against cracking and aging of the skin.

Preventing your skin from sagging and aging is one of the great common uses that coconut oil has. It bolsters the connective tissues within the skin and keeps the skin from sagging. Virgin coconut oil is a main ingredient in many lotions for this reason; it does wonders for the skin. It’s also good for massage, as it doesn’t dry out the skin in the same way mineral oils do.

Many other skin care products containing other oils go bad fast. Coconut oil does not. A rancid oil can cause skin irritation and infection, but coconut oil does not have any problems like this. Instead, it retains its original form for much longer than most other fruit or flower-based oils. However, refining virgin coconut oil often leads to a loss of one or more of these properties; if you’re going to use coconut oil, ensure that you’re using the virgin kind.

The Way To Choose The Right Organic Skin Care Products

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

The ideal set of pure skin care products can show everybody that you just care about your look and what you use on your skin. After all, your face is the first thing people see when they meet you, so you want to look your best. Here are some things to look for when trying to protect your skin.

Simply washing your face with soap alone is not sufficient daily natural skin care. Soap may clean up some of the oil and dirt on your face and may even open up some pores, but it does nothing to moisturize or condition your skin. In addition to your normal daily routine of washing with soap, add in some quality skin care products to protect and soften your skin.

There are a number of facial care products on the market to select from. Always use a facial cleanser rather than regular bar soap because body soap can dry out the face and will not give you any of the moisturizing properties of a good cleanser. Specially designed cleansers can be used for treating oily or dry skin, soothing sensitive skin, removing acne, or cleaning off cosmetics. Facial cleansers are available in different varieties, such as liquid, foam, cream, or gel.

You can also find a selection of face lotions in any line of healthy skin care products. These are usually much lighter than the heavy body lotions because they must moisturize while also controlling oily skin. A number of these lotions also give you other benefits like tanning, wrinkle prevention, or sunblock. These are all important if you want to protect your youthful visual appeal and stave off wrinkles.

Always take care of your face each day, starting by cleansing to remove built up dirt and oil. This will make sure your pores stay open and clear, preventing acne. The proper organic skin care products can help you get rid of all that accumulated dirt, oil, and pollutants from the air that may have built up on your face. Leaving this untreated may lead to more serious skin problems or even infection if the build up is too great.

Specialized skin care products are also available to deal with conditions like eczema, blackheads, and whiteheads. There are wipes, pads, gels, creams, foams, and more that are all individually designed to handle a certain skin condition. To clean out the pores overnight, you can get a facial mask that hardens on the skin and peels off with all of the impurities. Check the instructions that come with the product as some require the mask to be rinsed off and others simply can be peeled off.

For more luxurious skin care treatment, you can go to a spa for a full-service facial. In addition to facial services, most spas offer body massages and saunas so you can also unwind and reduce stress. While these high-end services may be expensive, you can usually get a basic facial for a reasonable price at most spas. Also, a quality spa should have the latest in pure skin care products for you to purchase for your own home use.

Dangerous Cosmetics And Teenage Girls. Don’t Mix The Two.

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

You might be unaware that there are dangerous ingredients in many big brand name cosmetics, and a new study is showing that this might be affecting teenage girls.

Our big brand cosmetics can be loaded with ingredients that aren’t safe and we ought not put on our skin. A recent study, for example, showed there was lead in over 50% of lipsticks tested.

Lead? Is it possible that we the public are unknowingly using cosmetics like lipstick that contain lead? Yes it is. It’s a sad fact that the FDA doesn’t regulate cosmetics, or for that matter skin care or anti aging products like it regulates drugs.

And yet for those of us using cosmetics we are putting them into our systems just as if they were drugs. When you apply a cosmetic product like a lipstick or a blush our a rouge some of that products ends up inside of us.

And it goes in because our skin is porous and what goes on mostly goes in and ends up in our bodes. That’s fine it the ingredients are harmless but lead? That’s not harmless.

And now a recent study has cast doubt on whether it’s safe for our teenage girls to use some cosmetics. I’ll quote from the website of the Campaign For Safe Cosmetics which summarizes the results clearly.

“Laboratory tests reveal adolescent girls across America are contaminated with chemicals commonly used in cosmetics and body care products.”

Now isn’t that scary? And it’s worse than you’d imagine, and if you’re a parent of teenage girls who use cosmetics, (and which girls don’t) it’s really scary.

The Environmental Working Group found chemicals from 4 different families of chemicals (phthalates, parabens, triclosan and musks) in the urine of girls between the ages of 14 and 20 who were tested in the study.

Some of these chemicals were found in the urine of every single girl tested.

Adolescence, of course, is a time when the maturing female body is growing fast and dealing with hormonal changes, and girls of this age do not want to be loading their bodies with potentially toxic chemicals.

These chemicals are considered to be capable of altering hormones, and so I wonder how many teenage girls using cosmetics and skin care products and possibly acne products know that they are taking a risk with their hormones at this time.

What will be the result of these possible risks to the reproductive health of young girls? Who knows, but I for one don’t want my daughter to find out.

Either way, do we want our children taking these unknown risks with common cosmetics and skincare and other personal and body care products?

It’s a matter of serious concern for anyone. But there are solutions. There are very good companies that have dedicated themselves to making natural cosmetics and natural skin care products that don’t contain dangerous chemicals. They work extremely well and don’t expose our daughters to the risks inherent in mainstream cosmetics.

But these aren’t the big brand name companies, they’re small niche companies that can’t possibly compete with the big brands on marketing, and don’t try, so you never see them advertising on TV. And you won’t find any of their products on the shelf of your local store.

However if you take the time to find them their natural cosmetics and natural skin care products are excellent, and price competitive.

So don’t play Russian Roulette with your daughters health. Find some top shelf natural cosmetics and natural skin care products that don’t contain dangerous chemicals.

Don’t Mix Unsafe Cosmetics And Teenage Girls

Saturday, March 21st, 2009

You might be unaware that there are dangerous ingredients in many big brand name cosmetics, and a new study is showing that this might be affecting teenage girls.

Our big brand cosmetics can be loaded with ingredients that aren’t safe and we ought not put on our skin. A recent study, for example, showed there was lead in over 50% of lipsticks tested.

Surely there can’t be lead in our lipsticks? Isn’t lead really dangerous? Yes it is, but sadly the FDA doesn’t require cosmetics companies to show that their products are safe to use. It’s the same with anti aging and skin care products.

And there’s a new study now which suggests that there are good reason why our teenage girls should be using safe cosmetics rather than the big brand dangerous cosmetics that so many use now. Here’s a quote from the Campaign For Safe Cosmetics.

And teenage girls are growing very fast, so the last thing they need is to be adding nasty chemicals to their bodies.

Most of these chemicals are hormone altering and so our teenage girls are taking a big risk at a time when they shouldn’t by using these toxic chemicals in their cosmetics.

What will be the result of these possible risks to the reproductive health of young girls? Who knows, but I for one don’t want my daughter to find out.

There seem to be risks to our girls but no one really knows the possible consequences.

That’s a matter of concern for parents and girls, but there are alternatives. There are excellent companies making safe cosmetics and safe skin care products that work very well indeed and don’t contain dangerous ingredients. So no risks to our daughters.

Unfortunately these companies are small niche companies unable to compete with the big brand names, and they don’t even try to compete. You’ll never find them advertising on TV for example. And you’re unlikely to find their products in the department stores either.

But if you search you can find small companies making excellent and safe cosmetics and also safe natural skin care products that are extremely good, and better quality than the big brands.

So don’t take risks with your daughters health. Use top shelf safe cosmetics and highly effective skin care products and make sure you or your daughter aren’t using products with dangerous ingredients in them.

It Makes Sense To Use A Moisturizer With Sunscreen Deosn’t It?

Saturday, March 7th, 2009

Sunburn is bad for your skin, so should you use a moisturizer with sunscreen?

But the answer may not be quite what you thought it might be.

It’s totally clear though that sunburn is really bad for your skin.

If you want to guarantee older looking skin with all the symptoms of aging skin like dryness, sagging, wrinkles and more, just get a sunburned face regularly from an early age.

Then there’s skin cancer to consider too.

So that means that it makes total sense to use a moisturizer with sunscreen with an spf as high as possible.

Well no, but that doesn’t mean that getting sunburned is fine.

Why isnt it a good idea to use a moisturizer with an spf factor? Because there is evidence that the daily use of sunscreens can be dangerous to your health, and even some suggestion that daily use of an spf moisturizer could lead to cancer.

That’s not to say that it’s proven, but it is certainly suspected by many scientists. Now if you use a sunscreen for, say, 5 or 6 times a year, then the risk is a little lower. But if you use a moisturizer with sunscreen added chances are you’re going to be using it daily, so you’re using a sunscreen daily.

There’s different types of sunscreens. There are sunscreens that work in 2 different ways. There are those that stay on the surface of your skin, and those that work within your skin once they soak in. Those that stay on the surface are sunscreens with either zinc or titanium.

If you’re using a sunscreen that soaks in then some of it will get into your blood. And the skin care products and moisturizers with sunscreen use the type that soaks in because it looks and feels better that way.

Spf factor is produced by use of synthetic chemicals, and its always a concern getting synthetic chemicals into your bloodstream.

And theres another factor to consider. If you block the sun to your face daily you can suffer from a deficiency of vitamin D, because the sun on our skin helps our vitamin D supply. Studies have shown that up to 60% of Americans are vitamin D deficient, though not necessarily all from sunscreen use.

So what should you do?

Use the highest quality moisturizer possible, without sunscreen in it. The manufacturer of the worlds very best moisturizers and skin care products specifically doesn’t add a sunscreen to their products for all the reasons I’ve mentioned.

And wait till there’s a day when you really think you need a spf factor, then use a sunscreen with either zinc or titanium. On other days you won’t need one, and then you can stock up on that vitamin D.

Where Can I Find A List Of The Best To Worst Skin Care Products?

Saturday, March 7th, 2009

One of the biggest question women ask about skin care products is “which are the best to worst skin care products”?

So today I thought I would deal with this question, but perhaps not give quite the answer that you might expect. I’m not going to give you a list of the best skin care products listing the best to worst skin care products 1 to 10.

That’s because I don’t believe that women who are asking themselves which is the best skin care products are asking the right question. There is a more important question to ask before you select a skin care range.

The preliminary question you should ask is one which almost no women ask themselves.

The question is which are the SAFEST skin care products?

SAFEST? You can’t be suggesting that skin care products are unsafe to use can you?

Well sadly safety has a lot to do with skin care products, and should be considered before any question of finding the best (or worst) skin care products. You see many big brand name skin care products contain ingredients that are suspect or downright dangerous. And so do many well known cosmetics, personal and body care and beauty products.

One quick example.

A recent study found lead in over 50% of big brand lipsticks tested.

And yes, you’re right, it’s really bad to get lead into our bodies. And there’s lead in big name lipsticks that you may even be using today. There’s lots more examples of dangerous ingredients in skin care and anti aging products and cosmetics and personal care products, that’s just one.

It’s so bad that entire organizations have now been set up to combat this problem with dangerous ingredients in anti aging skin care products and cosmetics and more.

How can this happen? Because the FDA is not required to police any of the ingredients that go into these products, so the big companies can put whatever they want in there. Many ingredients used in products in the US are banned in Europe.

And of course big companies care so much for you health don’t they? Just look at how much the cigarette companies care.

So before you ask yourself which are the best to worst skin care products you should be asking which are the safest skin care products. Because the best skin care products are only the best if they are safe.

There are some excellent natural skin care products available. They can be made from extracts from plants, or from the wool of sheep, or seaweed perhaps. But only from ingredients known to be safe.

And the company that makes the best skin care products in the world has actually made a commitment to it’s customers that it will only use ingredients in it’s products that are safe enough to eat.

So sorry, for those looking for a list of the best to worst skin care products, I haven’t produced a list. And anyway most of the big name products (apart from being unsafe to use) wouldn’t be on it anyway, most do very little. Strangely it’s unlikely that you’ve even heard of the company that makes the best skin care products, and they even back up the quality of their products with a money back guaranteed, so you can try risk free.

Visit my website to find out who they are.

I Need A List Of The Best To Worst Skin Care Products.

Friday, March 6th, 2009

Many women looking to buy skin care products are asking themselves “which are the best to worst skin care products”?

So today I thought I would deal with this question, but perhaps not give quite the answer that you might expect. I’m not going to give you a list of the best skin care products listing the best to worst skin care products 1 to 10.

That’s because I don’t believe that women who are asking themselves which is the best skin care products are asking the right question. There is a more important question to ask before you select a skin care range.

The FIRST and most important question that you should ask, and one which we suspect that 90% or more of women never think of is this.

The question is which are the SAFEST skin care products?

SAFEST?? How can skin care products be unsafe? What does safety have to do with skin care products?

Well sadly safety has a lot to do with skin care products, and should be considered before any question of finding the best (or worst) skin care products. You see many big brand name skin care products contain ingredients that are suspect or downright dangerous. And so do many well known cosmetics, personal and body care and beauty products.

Here’s a quick example. It relates to cosmetics, but it’s the same for skin care and anti aging products too.

A study conducted only recently on big brand name lipsticks found lead in over 50% of them.

And yes, you’re right, it’s really bad to get lead into our bodies. And there’s lead in big name lipsticks that you may even be using today. There’s lots more examples of dangerous ingredients in skin care and anti aging products and cosmetics and personal care products, that’s just one.

The problem is so bad that there are now entire organizations set up to combat dangerous ingredients in cosmetics and skin care and anti aging and body care, personal and beauty products.

How is this possible. It’s because the FDA doesn’t have to check the ingredients found in these products for safety, so whatever the big companies want to put in they can. And there are many ingredients used in these products that are banned in Europe.

And big business doesn’t have a fine record of caring for the health of their customers where there is money to be made, just look at the record of the tobacco companies.

So before asking yourself about the best to worst skin care products you should be searching for the safest skin care products. Because the best skin care products can’t be the best unless they are safe to use.

And it’s possible to get excellent natural skin care products that are safe and source ingredients from such places as plants or seaweeds or the wool of sheep. All known to be safe for people to use.

And there is one company that makes the worlds best skin care products. They make natural skin care products using ingredients that are sourced from plants, and seaweeds and the wool of sheep, and all safe to use.

So if you’re looking for the worlds best skin care products we haven’t produced a list for you, sorry. Most big names you would expect to be on the list aren’t safe to use, (and most do very little either, so they wouldn’t be on the list regardless). In fact the best skin care products are made by a company that you’ve probably never heard of, and they back up their products with a money back guarantee.

Visit my website to find out who they are.
