Resolved Question: Help!. Ive had my hair colour stripped (with bleach) and now its snapping, falling out and I have itchy scalp.?

Friday, December 18th, 2009

Ive always been one for changing my hair colour. I naturally have mid brown hair and decided to go a little lighter this summer. I purchased some highlighting cream from avon and used it over 3 cosecutive days. This was all fine until I got bored and thought it looked a little ginger almost so went to the salon to have a double ash semi put on my hair. At this point is where I shold have left my hair alone as it was shiny and silky and just below my chin in length.(Ive been trying to grow my hair for ages). But because I expected the colour to come out darker, I wasnt happy and went to boots to buy a home hair colour in a dark brown shade. After applying this I was devastated to find that it was black in some places and patchy dark brown where I had used the highlighting cream. I went down to my local salon with my tail between my legs. She suggested that I try and fade it at first for a week using washing up liquid with citrus in it, anti dandruff shampoos and go back and see her to try some lowlights. I did all the shampooing once a day religiously and washed with hot water and used my heat styling products up high, and still nothing.
I relly didnt like the idea if lowlights as they are always a shade of coppor or red that I was despareately tring to avioid.
So stupidly I went to another salon out of town to get my hair colour stripped. All I wanted was to start again and get my hair back to its natural mid brown colour. The hairdresser said this wouldnt be a problem as it was a low level peroxide that they use (9%). And I had that all over my head until it went a gastly shade of orange. I should have mentioned something at that point as my scalp went beyond tingling to a little burning, but I just sat there and took it in my stride.
They washed that off, put ann ash base colour on my hair and were then going to send me home, but my hair still looked nothing like its natural colour and was more orange so they put a semi on for 15mins to darken it.
It was fine until I tried to wash and dry it myself at home…
Because I have naturally curly hair I have to alwas sraighten it. I prob wouldnt need to if my hair was longer, but being chin length, if I leave it curly it goes so short its like an afro.
Well anyway, it ended up like straw. Dry, coarse, itchy scalp (but not red). I bought hot oil treatments, good shampoo with vitamins and went to my local health food shop where I bought vitamins for the hair that I take 3 times a day along with cod liver oil. I went back to my local salon and told afew fibs and said that the colour had faded and tht it must have been the highlighting cream that made it like this. She said not to worry and had conditioning treatment in my hair (that made my scalp itch a little, but it was a peppermint one) and she trimmed my hair about an inch so its a jaw length bob now. Ive got home now only to look in the mirrie and see that its snapping about 5 inches from the top of my head! nooooo!. Today is monday that I went to the salon and I want going to wash my hair until fri and that was atthe salon with another conditioning treatmen as I tent to drag my own hair around when I dry it, and then do nothing until mon the following week to have the same done again in the salon.
It just doesnt seem to be getting any better. I know its my fault but the worst thing is I have a wedding to go to next friday and the last thing I want is hair as short as a boys!. Sorry for the long post, but im running out of ideas. Any good advice welcome PLEEASE!!.

Resolved Question: What kind of cream can I use to get rid of my dark circles?

Friday, December 18th, 2009

I’ve had bags under my eyes since I was a kid. No matter how much I sleep it’s still there. I’ve tried the tea bags and frozen spoon treatment, but it doesn’t do anything. I use concealer daily but I want something that will help it get better. I’ve been hesitant to use eye creams because it’s always for anti aging and wrinkles. Do you think it’s bad to use wrinkle or anti aging cream for 20 year olds?
my bags are light brown and it just irritates me
I definitely drink a lot of water and trust me I’ve tried everything but I just want to lighten it up and stop the darkness. Cucumber hasn’t done me any good.

Resolved Question: Skin care kits?? Tips? what to do for insanely dry knees?

Friday, December 18th, 2009

i am looking for a skin care kit for combination skin that i can just do every day. please none of this weekly things or every other day. just something a little more simple. I am 13, so i don’t need anything anti-aging i don’t want anything that will give me wrinkles later-obviousely. I have dry skin but i still get zits in the dry areas. the kid I am looking for would hopefuly have a facial serum, a balancing cream, an eye cream, and a spot treatment. if you know about any kits, or personal tips, or if you could tell me your own *succesful* skin care routine-please post it. and obviousely ive been giving the details for my face but my body skin is just, normal i guess. my knees are increadibly dry, they don’t even feel like skin. i mosturize there twice a day, and it never helps. so any tips that you know are increadibly appreciated.

Resolved Question: When to start using anti-wrinkle cream?

Friday, December 18th, 2009

A girl friend and I were having a debate today on what age a woman should start investing in anti-wrinkle and other anti-aging treatments? (Creams, serums, etc.)

Obviously BEFORE signs of aging… but what do you all think? Thanks in advance!

Resolved Question: What was your age when you first started using anti- aging skin care products and treatments?

Friday, December 18th, 2009

I recently turned 26, and since I now passed my first quarter of my life, I bought myself (as a gift) a line and wrinkle preventing face cream. I don’t think I’ll ever undergo a surgical treatment - I’m scared.

Resolved Question: Can I use anti-aging cream with Benzamycin?

Friday, December 18th, 2009

I used to use Benzamycin for mild acne, but I stopped because it was making my skin really dry. I’m almost 25, and have been using some anti-aging night creams to help prevent wrinkles and keep my skin healthy. The ones I’ve used contain retinol or salicylic glycolic acid, vitamins, etc. and helped clear my skin. However, lately I have been breaking out and am thinking of going back to the Benzamycin. I only used the Benzamycin at night, and I’m wondering if I could use some sort of anti-aging cream on top of it at night. Has anyone done that? Has anyone used it as a spot-treatment instead of all over the face?
